Continuous Growth and Strategic Transformation
Over the past decade, Knjaz Miloš has made a significant leap forward through numerous portfolio innovations, business process optimization, and investments in developing functional expertise, transforming itself into one of the leading producers of water and non-alcoholic beverages in the Western Balkans. A key milestone in this development was the acquisition by Mattoni 1873 and PepsiCo in 2019, which provided Knjaz Miloš with strong strategic partners and extensive European and global expertise. Since 2024, the company has been fully owned by Mattoni 1873, the largest producer and distributor of natural mineral water and soft drinks in Central Europe.
New Production Facility and Vision for the Future
The opening of a new production facility at the Aranđelovac plant in 2024 stands as a historic milestone for Knjaz Miloš, marking the company’s first major expansion of industrial capacity in decades. This investment represents the result of years of dedication and expertise of the people who made a key contribution to the implementation of the project and the achievement of this significant milestone.
Among them is Goran Savović, Plant Director at Knjaz Miloš, whose career spans more than three decades within the company. Having progressed through key leadership roles in energy management, maintenance, and production, he now leads the plant through one of its most significant phases of development.
“The opening of the new production facility represents one of the most significant moments in the modern history of our company. With a total of 11 production lines, including two new production lines for filling in PET bottles and cans, we have doubled our production capacity. In addition to the production hall, the new production complex in Aranđelovac, also includes a raw materials warehouse, a cold storage facility, a syrup preparation area, and a water production plant”, said Savović.
Partnership with Della Toffola and Omnia Technologies
Cooperation with Della Toffola, a member of the Omnia Technologies Group, began in 2019 with the installation of a pasteurizer with a capacity of 26,000 l/h, laying the foundation for a long-term partnership. In the years that followed, two key projects were implemented: the installation of a modern, fully automated syrup preparation system and the water treatment plant with a capacity of 90,000 l/h.
The syrup room is designed to simultaneously produce different types of syrup for: carbonated soft drinks, still soft drinks, and energy drinks. It supplies five production lines, dissolves up to 12t of sugar per hour, and meets the highest hygiene and sanitary standards.
“The selection of Della Toffola was the result of positive previous experiences, strong engineering capabilities, and a detailed visit to their production facilities in Italy, which confirmed their high level of professionalism and technical excellence,” said Savović.
During the project implementation, certain technical challenges arose, but thanks to strong engineering support and the rapid response of the Della Toffola team, they were successfully overcome.
Looking Ahead: Innovation and Sustainability
Sustainability is one of the key pillars of Knjaz Miloš’ long-term strategy. By joining the Mattoni 1873 Group, the company gained strong momentum to further enhance its production processes and resource management.
“Across the entire production facility, sustainability is driven by efficient use of water, energy, and raw materials with strict process control. Optimized utilities, closed-loop cleaning systems, and continuous improvement programs reduce environmental impact while ensuring stable, high-quality production. Waste reduction and resource efficiency are embedded in daily operations at all levels of the plant”, said Savović.
A Shared Success Story
The partnership between Knjaz Miloš, Della Toffola, and Omnia Technologies demonstrates how advanced technology, engineering expertise, and long-term cooperation can serve as powerful drivers of sustainable industrial growth. A shared success story built on trust, innovation, and measurable results.
